EVERYONE'S GAME CARNIVAL
The Everyone's Game carnivals, organized by Basketball WA, remained instrumental in promoting inclusivity within the basketball community. These carnivals, conducted in collaboration with partners like the DLGSC and Belt Up Australia, aimed at raising awareness about International Day of People with Disability. Three all-abilities basketball carnivals were successfully held in 2023, expanding their reach to include a Wheelchair Basketball Come & Try session and an Ivor Burge skills challenge to better link athletes with intellectual disabilities to their basketball pathways in a supportive environment.
SEDA
SEDA's Year 11 and 12 basketball programs experienced notable growth in 2023, with 100 students earning coaching qualifications.
These students actively engaged in community initiatives, conducting clinics at primary schools and supporting BWA in event officiation.
Their efforts created opportunities for over 14,000 participants throughout the year and a total of 2,700 volunteer hours.
