2021 LOOKED TO BOUNCE BACK
BIGGER THAN EVER!
After a COVID-affected year in 2020, WABL in 2021 looked to bounce back bigger than ever as we started the year by revealing our new-look logo. The decision to no longer cap each age group at 40 also led to record numbers this season.
Season 2021 returned to an 18-week season, but again endured COVID- related challenges, with multiple rounds cancelled due to lockdowns. We did however receive a boost at the start of the season with The West Australian trialling a weekly Game of the Week live stream and later returned to cover Court 1 at Bendat for the three weeks of finals.
As a league that is continuing to grow, we will continue to review all aspects of the competition, including grading, regular season and finals.
We thank our Association’s WABL Administrators for their dedication to producing a successful season.
We recognise the importance of the players, coaches, managers, referees, scoretable officials and shot clock operators, as well as extending our thanks to the parents and spectators.
