Congratulations to all players who represented WA at the 2018 Australian Junior Championships.
The High-Performance Manager worked closely with all coaches and players to ensure that the Basketball WA State Team Program continued to grow. New initiatives continue to be designed to streamline both Country and Metropolitan Programs such
as combining the State Performance Pro- gram (SPP) trials with State team ones. This meant a player selected for a State team came through the SPP pathway which had not been the case in previous State team selections.
The Under 20 Men’s team were able to capture a Silver medal in Canberra and were not alone on the podium with our U20 Women winning the bronze medal too. Kyle Bowen became the 3rd WA player ever to receive the Bob Staunton medal at U20 Nationals as the best male athlete at the tournament.
Daniel Rogers and Josh Hunt from our
U18 State teams were invited to attend the NBA Basketball Without Borders tournament held in Japan. Daniel was also selected to the all star team from the tournament.

Basketball WA is working hard to implement strong structures and sound processes to ensure the continued development of Referees at the elite end of our sport. This will only strengthen the development of our game on the court moving forward.
Basketball WA looks forward to seeing continued growth in this program throughout 2020 and beyond.
