This month’s shining star looks a little different! As every- one says goodbye to Newfound Regional High School’s Athletic Director, Alex Sobolov, they now extend a happy welcome to Jacob Tivey. Tivey is a 2008 alumni of Newfound and is excited to get back to his roots where it
all started. As Newfound ap- proaches the 2022-2023 season, there’s a lot to look forward to as the weather gets crisper.
Coming off ten years at Laconia High School, Jacob Tivey is ready to get started as the new AD for Newfound Re- gional. It truly is a “coming back home story,” with Tivey being a 4-sport varsity athlete during
Tivey said, “I’m really looking forward to the fall season, as well as learning the new traditions of Newfound.” Tivey is working hard to get everything ready for the upcoming sports season, and the Newfound Community will be happy to see the return of fall sports! Tivey stated that “I love how close the community is here. The area, the people, it’s always so welcoming and just a great atmosphere.” It’s a dream come true for Tivey as he returns to Newfound to work with athlet- ics and develop sportsmanship skills for the younger generation. The students of Newfound are in good hands with Tivey! Make sure to be on the lookout for a schedule of Newfound Region- al’s sporting events this fall!

his teenage years at Newfound. He played football, soccer, bas- ketball, and baseball, and Tivey wasn’t shy to say that Newfound Regional “helped shape me into an athlete.” Not only do his high school accomplishments make him a wonderful person to be the
AD, but he also worked as the Restorative Justice Coordinator at Laconia High School as well as a coach for the girl’s soccer team and track and field.
