leads by example. Molly Lu spe- cializes in the 100 hurdles and shot put and also runs the lead- off leg of the 4x100 meter relay that is very close to breaking the school record. Her effort this spring, and the past two years, will hopefully be highlighted during the upcoming postseason meets; Wilderness League Cham- pionship meet, the NHIAA Divi- sion III meet, and hopefully the NHIAA Meet of Champions. The Newfound Girls track and field team captured the NHIAA Division III Runner-up trophy in 2021 and are hopeful for an even stronger performance this June. Regardless of the outcome from the team this spring, Molly Lu has been an outstanding stu- dent-athlete and has always been a strong representative of the values of Newfound Regional High School.
The Newfound community wishes Molly Lu McKellar the very best in the pursuit of her academic, athletic, and profes- sional goals.
June’s Shining Star: Molly Lu McKellar
Sports
Molly Lu McKellar is a 3-sport athlete at Newfound Re- gional High School who began the 2021-2022 school year as a junior but has worked very hard to graduate prior to her senior year. In the fall, Molly Lu was a part of the girls soccer program that just completed their second varsity season. She was a strong player on the field and was often looked to as one of the primary offensive weapons. In the winter, Molly Lu played girls’ basketball. Her team qualified for the Divi- sion III Final Four during each of her three seasons with the program. She prided herself on tenacious defense, rebounding, and a knack for getting open in the fast break. And in the spring, Molly Lu has been a valuable piece to the track & field program for the last two seasons (2020 was canceled due to COVID-19).
Molly Lu puts an equal amount of effort into her stud- ies as she does with her athletics. Graduating high school in three years while maintaining a 3.98

Though she earns exceptional grades in all her classes, Molly Lu has dis- played a passion for her English classes. Molly Lu has been most passionate about her English
classes and completed her senior project on the topic of the soci- etal benefits of reading. She is a gifted creative writer and has expressed an interest in pursuing a professional career in the field of writing and editing. In addi- tion to her exceptional GPA and rigorous class schedule, Molly Lu was also a member of the Stu-

This spring, Molly Lu has shined during the track & field season. Her work ethic is un- matched, and she can regularly be seen staying late to perfect her craft. She is a role model through her actions, and she consistently
