Fees for the program are $25/ day and include lunch and crafts. Eligible participants must be able to walk without assistance (use of a cane or walker is acceptable), be capable of participating in a social environment, use the bathroom without assistance, self-administer any daytime medications, and live at home with a caregiver. Independent transportation to the program by a caregiver is also required.
Those who find themselves in need of a “day away” from caring for a loved one are en- couraged to contact Coleman at 603-536-6304 or email her at sjrhett@roadrunner.com for information and application forms.
As a nonprofit organization, donations to help with operating costs are always gratefully appre- ciated. Contributions of any size can be mailed to Day Away, c/o Holy Trinity Parish, 11 School St., Plymouth, NH 03264.

They are all easy to create and typically adhere to the day’s theme, whether it be a holiday or seasonal project, that every- one can take home at the end of the day. Coleman said while visiting one participant at home a few years ago, she came to real- ize how much those crafts meant to him.
“There was a whole table in his house that was like a shrine, just filled with all the crafts he had made with us. It was really wonderful to see,” she recalled.
Besides the fun, the well-be- ing of their participants is of the utmost importance, said fellow volunteer Fran Cerami, who is also a registered nurse.
“We have a safety plan all laid out,” Cerami said. “We hold training sessions for our volunteers where we go over 911 procedures and have even had an Active Shooter presen- tation to make sure we know how to respond to that type of an emergency, too. We even do
