November Newfound Regional High School Update
Since the school year is of- ficially back in full swing, the NRHS students have been ex- ceptionally busy! This is always an exciting time of year for the kids as they embark on new be- ginnings and seek out opportu- nity to try new things. Back in September, Newfound Regional High School students partici- pated in several exciting events highlighting leadership, career exploration, and school spirit.
On Tuesday, September 23, juniors and seniors Rochelle St. Germain and Bailey Dow had the opportunity to attend the Women’s Leadership Lunch at The Lake Estate on Lake Win- nisquam.
The students enjoyed visit- ing a brand-new venue, a lovely lunch, and, most importantly, learning from accomplished women leaders in fields in- cluding healthcare, HVAC and plumbing services, accounting, hospitality, and culinary arts. NRHS expressed gratitude to the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce and event sponsors for their ongoing support of stu- dent leadership opportunities.
Later in the week, on Thurs- day, September 25, twenty New-

found students traveled to New Boston for the New Hampshire Construction Career Day, an annual event that hosted nearly 1,000 students from across the state. Despite heavy rainfall, stu- dents engaged with employers, explored educational pathways, and participated in hands-on activities, including fabricating sheet metal boxes, cutting glass, operating heavy equipment, welding, and riding in bucket trucks. This hands-on expe- rience gives students an early
look at careers in construction and trades.
Back at school, Newfound celebrated Homecoming week with theme days, sports compe- titions, and a fun run organized by the cross country team, and the football team even joined!. Students enjoyed volleyball, soccer, field hockey, and football games, with strong participation from the school community. The Booster Club hosted an all- sports spaghetti dinner, feeding 165 student athletes and foster-
ing camaraderie across teams. The school also came to- gether to watch their Unified Soccer Team face Laconia, celebrating their recognition as a Unified Champion Partner School through Special Olym-
pics New Hampshire.
NRHS has never lacked
excellent opportunities or fun- filled activities that sets the stage of what the year will look like. With so much already accom- plished by the impressive stu- dents, only time will tell what
new opportunities and activities will come knocking on th school doors next. From leadership and career exploration to school spirit and athletic achievement, Newfound Regional High School students experienced a week full of learning, fun, and community engagement. The events provided opportunities for students to learn new skills, connect with their peers, and show pride in their school. Go Bears!
