Thomas Caldwell and Lesley McGowan have been elected to the board of directors of the Blakeley-Mills Newfound Regional Scholarship Founda- tion, which offers scholarships to Newfound Regional High School graduating students and alumni in need of finan- cial assistance, in order to pur- sue educational advancement through a technical school, an apprenticeship, and/or college.
Caldwell, a member of Newfound Memorial High School’s Class of 1971, is a writer, editor, photographer, and videographer with an ex- tensive background in all facets of journalism, including web design and content creation. A graduate of Dartmouth College where he majored in Literature and Creative Writing, he has been employed at weekly and daily newspapers (including as owner/publisher of The Tele- gram of Franklin) and served on the board of the NH Press Association. He also served as part-time executive direc- tor of the Newfound Region Chamber of Commerce, on
Caldwell, a member of Newfound Memorial High School’s Class of 1971, is a writer, editor,
NH Court System dedicated to addressing cooccurrence of domestic violence and child abuse in the state. In 2002, she married Jesse McGowan, New- found Class of 1998 and UNH class of 2002. A year later they purchased land in Alexandria, built a home and welcomed their first of two daughters. McGowan managed the book- keeping for a local bed and breakfast part-time and helped manage a local playground while taking care of her daugh- ters. She volunteered at the Bristol Nursery School, serv- ing as treasurer, later at Bristol Elementary School, served as Chair of the PTO, supporting students, teachers, and par- ents. After 8 years at BES as a paraprofessional, McGowan joined the Advancement Of- fice at Plymouth State Univer- sity, supporting their Alumni Relations and Development teams. McGowan is looking forward to using her skills and heartfelt belief in the power of our community to help further the mission of this scholarship committee.

We hope that you are en- joying the mud season and thinking about getting out- doors more. During this time of growth and abundance, where nature flourishes and the world is alive with color, we encourage you all to get outside to soak in the beauty of our New Hampshire landscapes. Join us at the Pasquaney Snowshoe (and Hike) Club!
We have many outdoor events planned over the sum- mer months such as biking trips, kayaking, full moon walks & of course local hik- ing. Winter months bring us snowshoeing, cross country skiing & hikes and of course we can’t forget about the an- nual pot-luck get together in November!
Membership is only $5/ per person $10/per family per year and we send out an- nual & monthly emails with scheduled activities. You can sign up at our booth at the Hebron fair in July or sending us a message on Facebook at “Pasquaney Snowshoe Club” with your contact informa- tion.
We look forward to seeing you on the trails, roads and water during this upcoming summer season!

Later McGowan transferred to UNH to complete an undergraduate degree in Family Studies with a concentration in Family Coun- seling and Child Development in 2001.
