The Plymouth State Univer- sity Ice Arena hosted a figure skat- ing exhibition on Friday evening, August 16 th . The exhibition fea- tured skaters from ages 4 through adult. The skaters had been prac- ticing their skills and routines daily at the PSU ice arena and were excited to perform for family and friends as the summer season comes to a close. All skaters are members of Learn to Skate USA or US Figure Skating and are par- ticipants of the Plymouth State Skating Academy or the Magic Blades Figure Skating Club in Tilton NH.
Participants from our local area towns were Emma Torsey and Whatleigh Torsey from Bridgewa-
ter; Jillian Rubbe from Campton; Emma Stockbridge from Frank- lin; Patience Fleming and Emma O’Neill from Laconia; Susan Lang from New Hampton; Brynn Fadden and Georgia Payne from North Woodstock; Erika Lamson and Atisha Uasawangporn from Plymouth; and Naira Minassian from Waltham MA and Laconia NH. The skaters presented enter- taining routines which showcased the skills they have been work- ing on. Skater levels were from a 4-year-old Snowplow Sam skater through competitive figure skat- ers. The audience of family and friends were impressed with all the skaters’ abilities, bravery, and showmanship.
The Plymouth State Skat- ing Academy in Plymouth and the Magic Blades Figure Skat- ing Club in Tilton will soon be starting their fall learn to skate programs. At the Plymouth State University Ice Arena, skaters can register for Learn to Skate classes or Learn to Play Hockey which are offered on Saturday morn- ings. Magic Blades FSC offers lessons on Monday evenings be- ginning in October at the Tilton School Ice Arena. Registration in- formation can be found online at Plymouth.edu/arena or at Magic Blades Figure Skating Club Face- book page. Skaters ages 4 and up are accepted at both programs.
