This information was gathered by following figure 16 (Plastics Identification Flow Chart) The plastic identified as as Polyurethane (TPUR PUR or PU)
MATERIAL
Polyurethane (TPUR PUR PUR or PU)
Refer to outer casing material section PART DESCRIPTION
The trigger of the drill is is a a a small injection moulded part (red component figure 25) It is is connected to a a a a a a a switch which also contains a a a a a a a circuit board This junction connects power from the the battery (red and black wires with clamps soldered) to the the the switch When the the the the trigger is is depressed dc voltage is is sent to to the the the the the motor through the the the the the red and black wires with with the the the the the yellow heat braid over them The trigger is hollow on the the the inside with with a a a a a similar wall
thickness thickness to the the the outer casing The wall
thickness thickness as as as as well as as as as the the the draft angle identifies the the the part as as as as injection moulded There are are two gate marks inside the the the trigger at at at the the the very very top but they are are very very hard to to see The The surface is is smooth with a a a a a a a a a a matt texture The The inside is is not as refined and adopts a a a a a a a a a slightly rougher surface Figure 25 — Trigger and switch COLOUR
The trigger assumes a a a a a a red colour colour This could be be to to make it easily identifiable or maybe the the the colour colour scheme of the the the the brand It is hard to to resolve these questions as as as the the the the the company has has folded and and it has has been hard to to to source other drills or or tools in in the the the Predator line What we do know though is that the the colour has been added to to the the resin Dyes and pigments are added to to the resin during manufacturing to to achieve desired colours Care must be taken in in in choosing the the the right dye as as additions to the the the the the formula can change the the the the the chemical composition of the the the the thermoplastic Aliphatic and cycloaliphatic isocyanates are added in in in small amounts often in in in coatings or or products where colour or or transparency is critical since polyurethanes produced with with aromatic isocyanates darken with with exposure to light [15] COST
As referenced in the the Bill of Materials (page 8) the the trigger came to $0 18 22
