TIMELESS
FINNIES THE JEWELLER
    NEWS & EVENTS
 GO WITH THE FLOW
The famous Danish design house of Georg Jensen, founded in Copenhagen over 100 years ago, is renowned for its calm, clean aesthetic. Its Fusion collection of wavy-edged stacking rings was created by Nina Koppel in 1987 – originally in silver. They are now available in rose, white or yellow gold; some pavé-set in emeralds, rubies, sapphires or white or black diamonds. If this seems a little weird and wonderful for a brand with such controlled sensibilities, fear not: they all fit together perfectly, like a jigsaw puzzle. In any order you like, with almost limitless permutations. The only limit, in fact, is the length of your finger. From £595 to £3,750.
CARTIER CLASSICS
2017 saw the relaunch
of two classic Cartier watches. That icon of the 1980s, the ladies’ Panthere, so named because its supple, articulated link bracelet mimics the slinky movement of a panther, has had a makeover. It’s now more waterproof, the link bracelet is stronger, and it comes in two sizes and a variety of styles including steel, bi-colour, white gold, yellow gold (£17,700) and
a stunning white gold and diamond model.
In other news, the Cartier Tank turned 100 in
2017, and celebrated by relaunching the Tank Americaine, this time in stainless steel (as opposed to just precious metals), and in three sizes. Priced at £4,550, this is a more accessible way to get yourself a piece of Cartier history.
LENDING A PAW
When Dougal Fraser was working out a plan to propose
to his girlfriend, he decided to enlist the help of their Cavapoo, Skye, as well as that of Dominique at Finnies.
He started by choosing a diamond, and while it was being set, Dominique had a pink, heart-shaped dog tag made up with the words ‘Will you marry me?’ The couple headed off on holiday, to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, where she became suspicious when she saw Skye wearing a white ribbon, a pink tag – and what appeared to be a diamond ring! Congratulations to the future Mr and Mrs Fraser.
