• Definition: Behavioral health encompasses a resident’s whole emotional and mental well-being, which includes, but is not limited to, the prevention and treatment of mental and substance use disorders.
• Determine direct care staff based on facility assessment.
• Staff must have appropriate competencies and skills
• Medically related social services (Phase 1)
• Services to residents with hx of trauma &/or PTSD (Phase 3)
• Appropriate tx and services for persons with dementia
• Use of “non-pharmacological interventions”
