Dear Friends We present the the 2019-2020 Annual Report of the the Children’s Friend Dental Program with great joy It seems hard to believe that we are celebrating our seventh year of a a a a a a a a a a a a a a wonderful partnership with the Samuels Sinclair Dental Center at at at Rhode Island Hospital Of course the the the success we have achieved over these years would not be possible without the the the outstanding leadership of all those who make this comprehensive dental program a a a a a a a a a a a a a a reality In particular I I would like to to thank the Samuels Sinclair Dental Team our our our Board of Directors our our our talented teaching and nursing staff along with Maria Chionchio our our our Nurse-Family Partnership
Manager and and our our President and and Chief Executive Officer David Caprio for ffor their dedicated efforts to to ensure ensure children in in the the the classrooms are are receiving the the the necessary care to to ensure ensure good oral health This year we are incredibly proud to report the the the continued upward trend in in in in the the the number of of of families families who have have embraced the the the importance of of of having a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a dental dental home home Over 95 percent of of of families families have have have a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a dental dental dental home home and with increased knowledge about good oral health care many have have chosen to secure dental dental services from a a a a a a a a a a a private dentist Our innovative Sealant Project continues to to to to be be a a a a a a a a a a a a a a beneficial service in in in in helping to to to to prevent tooth decay With many of of our our families families unable to to to to to to to afford a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a cost of of $150 per application we are thrilled to to to to continue to to to to provide this service to to to to our our families families enrolled in in Children’s Friend programs Without a a a a a a a a a doubt doubt this past year has undoubtedly been challenging with the the the outbreak of of the the the COVID-19 pandemic Even during these unprecedented times we are proud of of our dental program’s success this year Please be be assured that the the the Samuels Sinclair Dental Center and and Children’s Friend are are committed to to our partnership in in in in in providing the the the best dental care possible In doing so we take every safety precaution and and and and strictly adhere to to guidelines mandated by the the the Rhode Island Department Department of of Health and and and the Department Department of of Human Services I hope you enjoy reading the the the report that follows which highlights some of our accomplishments for the the the 2019-2020 year year We anticipate many more successes in in in the the the coming years Sincerely Dana Mullen
