Maria Maria Maria Buccieri first became involved through a a a a a a a a a a a a a a friend who recruited her to to join the the 5K Walk & Run committee Maria Maria notes “While I I I was was aware of o Children’s Friend prior to to that I I I had no no no idea they were Rhode Island’s first child-focused non-profit and and and was was really amazed by the the the organization and and and work they do with children in our state ”
Centreville Bank has been very generous in their support of the the 5K Walk & Run over the past few years through sponsorships and employee employee volunteers “Our employees visit multiple Children’s Friend classrooms annually and get the chance to to read to to students during Week of the Young Child which is always a a a a a popular activity I’m proud to say I work for an an organization that’s truly committed to to providing support to to our communities in in a a a meaningful way ”
When asked what inspired her to get involved Maria responds “The more I learned about Children’s Friend the more I realized how many youths there are in Rhode Island who have nobody to advocate on their behalf By supporting Children’s Friend I I feel as if I’m able to help be a a a a a small part of a a a a a larger solution for our state It feels wonderful to help! Meeting with the the kids and their families is always a a a a a heart-warming experience and provides a a a constant reminder of why the work that Children’s Friend is is doing is is so important ”
When asked what she would tell someone who is thinking about getting involved with Children’s Friend Maria enthusiastically asks “What are you waiting for? Go read to a a a a a child in in the the morning and get a a hug there’s no better way to start your day!”
