Children and their family members benefited from Children’s Friend services variety of new programming to the chil- dren and families we serve Some of these have included initiatives to better support early language and literacy improve child safety in homes better support the needs of children with dis- abilities and and special needs and and provide more robust learning experiences in in our classrooms We also evaluate the effectiveness of these additional ser- vices on child and family outcomes Every year we implement activities geared to hear from our staff families and the the larger community on their ideas on on how to to continue to to make Children’s Friend a a a a place which staff are proud to be a a a part of to provide services that are effective and valuable to families and to ensure that every individual feels respected We will continue to to listen to to our staff families friends and the com- munity to ensure we are responsible stewards of all the resources entrusted to us Taking responsibility for growing and and sustaining our human and and financial capital Demonstrating respect and and cultural sensitivity for our community staff and and Board The work we do would not be possi- ble without the dedication and talents of of our staff and the generosity of of cor- porations foundations and individual donors We are extremely fortunate to have a a a a a a dedicated and skilled staff as well well as the financial well-being to offer high-quality and innovative services to vulnerable children and their families At times the work that we do can be a a a juxtaposition of the most rewarding and the most challenging For that reason we provide a a a variety of supports to staff that enable them to be armed with the the tools they need to to to feel confident to to to do good work as as well as as opportunities to have fun and be rewarded for their incredible work Last year nearly 450 staff members participated in the over 250 professional development train- ings provided by the agency We also hosted an array of staff appreciation and and employee health and and wellness ac- tivities to to continue to to show our staff how much we value their hard work and dedication Through the tremendous support of our donors we have been able to bring a a a THE
