6. Sonny’s Dream Job Sonny is a big, brown bear. He loves food and he loves cooking. Every Saturday, he helps in the kitchen of his Uncle Raymond’s cafe. But he is not a cook. He washes plates, bowls, cups and glasses. Sonny doesn’t like the job of washing dishes, but he works there because he wants to be a cook one day. He also helps in the kitchen at home because he wants to practice. One Saturday, everything changes. His uncle Raymond doesn’t have any cooks today because they aren’t feeling well. They are all ill. On top, Selina Redman, the famous cook is coming for lunch today. Everyone knows Selina Redman because everyone watches her TV show ‘In my kitchen.’ ‘’Can I cook, Uncle Raymond?’’ asks Sonny. ‘’You can’t cook, Sonny! Your job is to wash the dishes.’’ says his uncle. ‘’But I cook every day at home.’’ Finally, Uncle Raymond says yes and Sonny starts making his favorite pasta. That day after lunch, Selina Redman asks Sonny to come to her table. ‘’It is a great pasta. Do you like cooking?’’ ‘’Yes, I do. I want to be a famous cook like you one day.’’ 34
