the international institute of building enclosure consultants (iibec) is an international association of professionals dedicated to the science and art of building enclosures, encom- passing façade and exterior wall design, roofing, and waterproofing. its mission is both es- sential and enduring: to elevate the practice of building enclosure consulting through education, advocacy, and professional community.
Founded in 2015, the iibec metro new York chapter was established to provide a local platform for advancing these objectives, promoting closer collaboration among profession- als, contractors, manufacturers, trade associations, and societies directly connected with the building enclosure industry. since its inception, the chapter has grown into a thriving net- work of experts dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence.
tai mahmuti, pe, QeWi, Qpsi, founder of beroA engineering Pllc in new York, served as the iibec metro new York chapter President for 2024 and now continues his service as Immediate Past President. born in Kosovo, mr. mahmuti is a proud first-generation Alban- ian-American who has consistently championed greater involvement of Albanian-Ameri- cans in the Architecture, engineering, and construction (Aec) industry. His leadership reflects iibec’s core values of integrity, collaboration, and advancement of the profession.
