Congratulations to
The Albanian American Civic League
for a quarter of a century of fighting for the Albanian national cause in Washington and human rights throughout the world.
My warmest congratulations to the President of the Albanian American civic league, the honorable Joseph J. DioGuardi, and balkan Affairs Adviser, Shirley Cloyes DioGuardi. through their leadership and dedication, and with the contributions of a great group of people, the civic league was able to build a track record of accomplishments that culminated in the independence of Kosova.
As we celebrate a remarkable twenty-five years of service to Albanians throughout the world, the Albanian American civic league continues to provide timely and sound lobbying-oriented advice that helps us work effectively with government every day.
As for my involvement with this remarkable couple, Joe and shirley, it is my great pleasure, to have gotten to know them and to be inspired by their wisdom, love of life, and human rights. congratulations on a quarter-century of great achievement. no one in the Albanian nation does better at what you do. you are the best—and you are fun to be with!

i would also like to pay trgibute to my late father, Sali Sejd Bukolla, who, along with my mother,
Cymë Ismail Nezaj, instilled pride in my Albanian heritage and my American values of justice and the right to liberty.
it was my father who said to me that, we, as Albanian Americans, have two strong pillars of the Albanian national cause: Joe DioGuardi in America and Ramush Haradinaj in Kosova.
