DEAR FRIENDS OF SAINT FRANCIS In these unprecedented times with so much change and uncertainty we have taken comfort in in Blessed Basil Moreau’s words: “How we educate the mind will will change with the the times how we cultivate the the heart is and will will remain timeless ” We are reminded that education often has faced disruption and that successful schools quickly adjust to a a a a a a shifting landscape while remaining steadfastly true to their mission As we have have faced this crisis at Saint Francis I have have been so inspired by our educators who have worked tirelessly to to to move quickly and seamlessly to to to a a a a a remote learning platform and even more importantly have constantly kept the the health and and well-being of of our students and and families at the the forefront of of every decision Providentially our BRIC (Bringing hope Respecting others Inspiring integrity and Celebrating family) theme this year is is is is hope and it is is is is needed now more than ever It is is is is in the the the shadow of the the the Cross that that that apparently darkest moment that that that we we are are are reminded that that that we we are are are an Easter people with hope to bring At Saint Francis in in in the midst of so many challenges we have been truly grateful to serve in in in a a a a a a community that that fills us with so much hope Educators often discover that that we have learned even more than we we hoped to teach: we we have seen colleagues students and families serving in in the the local community supporting each other and sharing that that unique spirit that that every member of the Lancer family knows so well It has truly filled our hearts Out of all the the the encouragement we have received from the the the community it it has been the the the heartfelt notes and comments on social media from our students that have touched my heart the most In a a a a a year when most of of their senior activities have been postponed or or changed members of of the the Class of 2020 have been reaching out to to share their gratitude and and prayers and and to to tell us they miss miss us We miss miss them them too and we can’t wait to to see them them again soon In the reflection of our students’ faith-filled generous spirit we find a a a a certain hope in in in a a a a bright and vibrant future for our Saint Francis school community With gratitude for your prayerful support and hope Jason D Curtis
