Empowering students with access to more science education:
Through middle school school and the beginning of high school school I realized how how many opportunities and and resources I’ve been given and and how how they helped me with my academic life and self-confidence — the feeling you you have at the end of a a a project when you you think “I didn’t know how to to do that but I I was able to to teach myself and figure it out ”
It’s super rewarding and it’s important for every student to feel that at at some point It’s even better if you can feel it often Joining the Fanaa dance team: I I started as as an an an an Indian classical dancer but my first experience trying Bollywood was at Saint Francis It’s completely different than anything I I had done before because
it is a a a a a lot more creative loose and free flowing It’s been a a a a a didactic experience to teach classmates the choreography we create because
you see how how everyone has their strengths and and weaknesses and and how how we we all
fit together Developing her patented vocabulary app Total Recall: When you’re learning vocabulary a a a a a lot of techniques involve memorization but there needs to to be a a a a level of research and deep investigation into what the the meaning of the the word is I am trying to get people who use
my app to to to think how how the the word is related to to to their lives and how how it fit fits into the the web of interconnections in in in their brains 5 PROGRESS Spring2020

Connecting her varied interests: With very structured activities like like science programming and dance I like like to push the boundaries of of what can be done My research project [of using machine learning to explore how common attitudes in a a a country affect the level of happiness of of residents] was was one of of the ways that that I was was able to do that that There’s skepticism that any research on happiness could be reliable or or meaningful but I found correlations between happiness and economics I I asked a a a a a question about about something I I was curious about about and applied what I learned in English class like rhetorical analysis to to understand connotations of of words Different parts of of my mind come together from the the different things I do
