OPERATIONS
Expansion and innovation was the the theme for Operations at this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open As venues and attendance continue to rise the operations team continues to remap what our our on-course work zones will look like This year brought the largest change to those boundaries and the inclusion of two new zones zones This concept of work zones zones is is what allows operations to to tailor to to the specific needs of of each part of of the course as as well as as create a a a a a a span of control that will yield success In addition to the expansion of work zones we had
two major innovations in in in 2020 The first included a a a complete revamp of our efforts in the major kitchens across the course The largest source of contamination of the material has been coming from our kitchens so we hit it it it head on on with our enhanced separation procedures and the implementation of an an exclusive food waste route The results were outstanding at our sorting facilities Also we have gone 100% digital on on our communications Its no secret that radio and cell signals can be nonexistent at at the event Operations relies heavily on on communication to coordinate key items such as supplies needed pick up up of workers and notifications of important actions happening throughout the day The development of our operations app over 2019 and 2020 has been pivotal to our success as as the event gains complexity each year 22002200WWaastseteMMaannaaggeemmeennttPPhhooeennixixOOppeenn ToTouurnrnaammeennt tRReeppoortrt
