Lambton County is gearing up to spend $11 million to improve county roads and much of the construction will be in Central Lambton.

County councillors recently approved the 2017 plan which includes:

* recycling and resurfacing of London Line from Fairweather to Kerrigan Road
* resurfacing Petrolia Line from Kerby to Oozloffsky
places with the markings and pylons set out on Bentpath Line now. Petrolia Mayor John Mc- Charles expects the resurfacing of Petrolia Line in the town limits likely won’t occur until the fall, when the road recon- struction on Florence, Kerby and Egan is complete.
The man’s driver’s license was seized and the car has been impounded for seven days.

Town council accepted the $1.113 million bid of Henry Heyink Construction for the rst phase of the Florence - Egan - Kerby reconstruction this summer. The streets near Queen Elizabeth II Pub- lic School are the last combined sewer systems in town. That created a lot of backups for residents and people had long complained of poor roads and sidewalks.

The contract came in about $187,000 under what was rst estimated.
The $187,000 surplus for the Florence-Kerby- Egan reconstruction may be needed for the project.
The bids for the resurfacing of several streets were also lower than expected. Sev-Con Paving will be resurfacing Pine, part of Catherine, part of Railroad, part of Robert, part of Wing eld and will complete the milling and paving of Eureka and Ella Streets at a cost of just over $297,000 - about $32,000 less than expected.
“We want to be careful because there are a lot of unknowns here; we need to be cautious.”
Mayor John McCharles believes the quotes are coming in lower this year because the municipal- ity was able to ask for bids earlier in the construc-
Sev-Con may begin construction as early as May 15 and are likely to complete their work by June 30.
