for the compassionate phone calls, emails, texts, social media posts, online condo-
lences, visits, cards, mass intentions, kind words, owers, memorials, food and long
distances traveled by some to be with us after the sudden and unexpected deaths
of our parents Mary Louise (March 2nd) & Jim (March 16th). We are very grateful
for the support and donations given to our families’ chosen causes - we do hope to
keep their spirit alive and well in our community for many years to come. Special
thanks to our family & friends who were with us during this very di cult month in
our lives. To the Lambton County Paramedics, Alvinston Fire Department and the
Petrolia OPP for being there after Mom’s death. To the Glencoe & Melbourne Fire
Departments and all other professionals for attending to our father’s accident. As
well as Victim Services of Sarnia-Lambton for taking the time to be with our family.
We want to thank everyone who came to the visitations & funeral to pay their last

in line and speak to us or have a chance to meet with us at the funerals. We are grateful to Father Bedard & Rev. Jim Breen for o ciating, Ann Marie Lucan & Ken Alderman for the eulogies, the readers; Sharie St. John, Edna Kerrigan and Sherida Marriott. Thanks again to Ron for laying Dad’s helmet Sunday at the Ontario Fire Chiefs Association Memorial Service in Toronto. To the Toronto Fire Service Honour Guard and Toronto Fire ghter’s Association for such a great send o especially Jost Kaempfer who played the bagpipes at both funerals. The funeral procession was a spectacular tribute due to the volunteers of the Alvinston, Inwood, Watford, Warwick, Glencoe & Dawn-Euphemia Fire Departments, along with the support of the Petrolia OPP. To Armor’s Ale House & Riverstone Pizzeria, thanks for opening your doors to the remen and for giving us food at our home and after the funeral. The 200 plus Toronto Fire ghters who attended either the march, visitation or funeral service and the members of the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association who came from as far away as Halifax and Vancouver. The re ghters from some 35 di erent re departments who participated in the march. We also thank Lara St. John who came from New York City to play an unforgettable violin tribute. John Beaugrand and Burt McKinlay for videography work. Jim & Nancy Fa ak for coordinating and preparing the meals between the visitations and the other family friends who helped serve it.
We are very fortunate that our grandparents Russ & Doris Hayter and Charlie & Marjorie Bindner lovingly raised our parents the way they did. We are very lucky to have had these two people in our lives, however it was not long enough. The love and support shown to our family was overwhelming and will always be remembered.
