Cannabis
(genus Cannabis), plant belonging to the family Can- nabaceae of the nettle order (Urtica- les). By some classi-  cations, the genus Cannabis compris- es a single species, hemp (Cannabis sativa), a stout, aro- matic, erect annual herb that originated in Central Asia and is now cultivated worldwide.
Cannabinoids
any of more than 100 known chem- ical compounds found in all parts of the cannabis plant (namely the species Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa) and espe- cially concentrated in the female  ower heads.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
an active constituent of marijuana and hashish that was  rst isolated from the Indian hemp plant (Cannabis sativa) and synthesized in 1965.
Cannabidiol
CBD—can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from
