Splinting Radial Nerve Splints
Robinson Hand-Based Radial Nerve Splint.
Compensates for loss of finger extension associated with radial nerve injury. Features an InRiggerTM padded, moldable base with five spring-loaded lifts— one for each finger and the thumb. The loop spring design helps distribute force on the internal leather spring pocket. Springs increase restoring force on the flexed finger. Loops enhance comfort, as the loop sides tend to lie on either side of the finger. Splint is made of soft deerskin for durability and comfort.
LMB Radial Nerve Splint with MP Extension and Adjustable Thumb Assist. For radial nerve injuries and volar wrist and hand injuries with wrist flexor and palmar hand contractures. Heavy-duty, vinyl-backed foam. Splint extends the proximal phalanges and is adjustable for desired tension. Thumb wire can be bent for desired position and wrist extension force is adjustable by bending lateral wires. Weighs less than 5 oz. To size, measure width of hand at MP joint. Latex free.
**Force of wrist extension when wrist is positioned in neutral.
Robinson Forearm Radial
Nerve Splint. Helps the patient
who has loss of digit extension
and wrist extension. This splint has
the same InRiggerTM as the hand-based splint, but it also supports the wrist to eliminate functional loss. It features a streamlined, form- fitting design. A pocket inside each splint glove contains an orthotic positioner. It has five spring-loaded lifts: one for each finger and one for the thumb. The new loop spring design does a better job distrib- uting force on the internal leather spring pocket. The result is longer life where finger flexion is frequent through the full range of motion. Springs increase restoring force on the flexed finger, as is recom- mended by many therapists.
