deformity. Provides support and stability to the PIP joint. Adjustable for desired de- gree of flexion or extension. Measure PIP joint width to select size. Latex free.
Finger Splints: Extension
Extension Finger Splint.
Indications include damaged extensor tendon “boutonniere” deformity, volar capsular fibrosis of the IP joint and flexor tendon ad- herence. The splint is coated with a thin coat of plastisol and includes a strap, which is applied across
the dorsum of the finger near the proximal IP joint. Tightening in- creases extension of the joint. For size, measure from the MCP joint of the affected finger to the center of the distal phalanx (center of the finger tip). Latex free.
BunnellTM Mini Modified Safety Pin Splint with Coil to Extend PIP or DIP. Can be used for thumb IP joint. Easily adjusted with hook and loop strap. Extends only the DIP joint. Features felt padding and adjustable strap. To size splint for DIP contractures, measure from PIP crease to fingertip. For PIP contractures, measure from MP to PIP crease. Latex free.
Mallet Finger Splint. Primarily used in treating extensor tendon disruption at its insertion point on the distal phalanx. The mallet splint immobilizes the distal IP joint in maximum extension, yet al- lows full motion of the proximal IP joint. This polished aluminum splint is easily applied with adhesive tape (not included). Pack of 12. Latex free. *May vary in some cases
