Splinting Finger Splints: Extension
LMB Acu-SpringTM PIP Extension Assist. For increasing range of motion at the PIP joint limited by tightness or contracture. Adjustable tension. Bendable to accommodate swelling. Does not extend the MP joint while extending the PIP joint. More force than 7041 series on right. To size, measure on the volar surface from the MP crease to the distal finger crease. 6 lbs. (2.4kg) of force at 90° flexion. Latex free.
Polycentric hinge
Rolyan® PIP Ligament Repair Splint.
Allows active PIP flexion and extension, yet limits radial and ulnar deviation of the PIP joint. Polycentric hinge
helps prevent distal migration of splint during flexion. Ideal for PIP injuries such as sprains and strains and for repair of partial collateral ligament tears. Can also be used post-operatively for PIP protec- tion. Low-gauge padded aluminum can be modified using pliers. For dynamic flexion, add rubber bands. Includes straps. To size, measure circumference of PIP joint. For dynamic flexion, add rubber bands on volar side (not included). Latex free.
LMB Spring PIP Extension Assist. Shorter and stronger than Spring Extension Splint 7042 series on right. Does not interfere with MP joint while extending the PIP joint. Can be used for boutonniere deformity and PIP extension limitations of 45° or less. Measure dis- tance on volar surface from MP crease to distal finger crease. Force at full flexion: 31/2 – 4 lbs. (1.3–1.5kg); force at full extension: 1/2 lb. (187g). Latex free.
LMB Spring Finger Extension Splint. For PIP extension limita- tions of 45° or less. Adjustable spring extension splint to assist the proximal interphalangeal joint into increased extension. Provides more forceful extension assistance than Extension Finger Splint 7053. Also has a lesser extension effect on the metacarpalphalangeal joint. Force of 33/4 lbs. (1.4kg) when flexed 45° or more; 13/4 lbs. (653g) at full extension. Fits either hand. Measure from palmar crease to distal finger crease. Latex free.
