OrficastTM. This Thermoplastic Casting Tape offers extreme comfort for patients and extreme ease for therapists. It is ideal for applications such as simple finger, thumb or toe splints; supportive bandage wrap; and serial casting. Excellent ventilation aids in wound care treatment and enhances patient comfort. Your patients will appreciate the tape’s ultra-soft feel.
The tape features a unique, knitted hybrid fabric made with the latest textile-like thermoplastic materials and production tech- nology. OrficastTM creates the perfect immobilization splint because of high moldability, two-way stretch, self-adhesion and
elastic memory. Its pliability results in effective contour of splinting material, more efficient splints and snug fit.
OrficastTM can be molded directly on the patient without risk of skin burns. Even though the cooling time is short, the tape allows adequate working time to complete cor- rect alignment. This casting tape can be cut easily with regular scissors to any shape and length. Overlapping cre- ates rigidity but the seams are not perceptible on the inner surface. OrficastTM splints allow full functional ability while offering lightweight but rigid support.
