Patterson Medical® Magnet Alarm. Easy to operate, reliable and economical, too. Used on chairs with the cord attached to the patient’s clothes. The alarm is ac- tivated when the cord is pulled as a result of the patient starting to stand. The pull string has a 1” diameter magnet on one end and a spring-loaded metal clip on the other. When magnet is pulled away from the unit, the alarm triggers and a red light is illuminated. A spring-loaded clip is included for easy attachment to a wheelchair. Features include:
• The 5” x 2” x 1.25” alarm is small and discreet.
• Durable design—doesn’t need an expensive rubber protective. Passed drop test
by independent lab simulating 500 drops.
• A volume adjustment switch inside the battery compartment can be set at high
(105dB) or low (90dB).
• The included 9V battery goes in a compartment that easily slides then snaps se-
curely into place. Red light flashes when battery is low. The battery has an extra secure fit: if the alarm is dropped, the battery does not fall out. This security makes it more difficult for patients to disable the alarm.
Tool-free battery door—no more searching for a screwdriver to change the battery. The length of the pull cord can be adjusted up to 30” so you can determine how far the patient is able to move without setting off the alarm. Replacement magnet, clip and cord sold separately.
