Twisted Tea Made with Real Brewed Tea... Now on DRAFT!
Now that we’re safely in the arms of
2021, we can look back and see things
“2020”...But why would we do that!?
It’s time to turn the page on the 365
days which could arguably have been
the most difficult that we’ve ever
faced. Yes, it sucked, but there were
some good things that came out of
2020, namely a vaccine for COVID-19
and the “stay at home” got many of us
to reconnect with things we used to do
when we weren’t always going some-
place. In my opinion the most impor-
tant thing that came out of 2020 is, well,
YOU! If you’re reading this edition of Rally News
you’re alive and that is a lot more than some people can say for 2020. We all lost something or someone we loved last year no matter who you are and that’s never fun; in fact, it sucks. Here at Twisted Tea, we (like most of us) did everything we could to make the best out of the cards we were dealt. During the lockdown, we cleaned the bikes, fixed the broken equipment, and had the trailer loaded so we were ready for the next bike rally. When no bike rally came, we attended Cycle Source’s first ever vir- tual rally and it was a total blast! They had everything you’d expect to see at an actual rally: killer music from bands playing in their garages for us, great bartenders showing us their best drink recipes from the comfort of their home, an “around the world bike show” that streamed sick builds from across the globe and they even had a bikini contest! The best part of the virtual rally was seeing all our friends on screen or in the chat. There was a
virtual tip jar for the
bands and rally bartenders who really took it on the chin when the shows got cancelled.
It demonstrated for all to see that we are a community that goes beyond the road. We take care of one another and that’s
something 2020 could never take from us. After the virtual rally we had a blast going to the virtual bike nights every
Thursday where we got to continue the fellowship, laughs and drinks with our friends no matter where they were (we
were all home; that’s where we were . . . duh!)
We missed a lot of the events that year, but we were able to attend Sturgis. It was the 80th so the crowds weren’t nearly as heavy as they should’ve been. According to many, they were better than the lower estimates they had anticipated. Since we were at Sturgis, it was impossible for us to turn it around quick enough to attend the rescheduled Laconia rally in August; and that sucked. For those who were able to come and support our beloved Laconia, you guys drank a ton of Twisted Tea which is not a surprise!
Each article we pen for the Rally News, we announce the annual Twisted Tea Sweepstake Bike that we do with Flat Broke Customs and the gang at Cycle Source. This year we have a killer bike we’ve named the “Tea Dozer” because it will roll you’re a$$ over! Since we weren’t able to showcase the bike last year, we were able to extend the sweepstakes into 2021 which means that if you
haven’t entered to win it yet there’s still time!
     Billy at his best!
