28th Annual POW/MIA (Con’t.)
2. Michael Joseph Blassie was an officer in the United States Air Force. He was awarded the Medal of Honor meritoriously for serving as
America’s Unknown Soldier for 14 years, then that honor was taken away and removed from his records. A book concerning this story written by his sister Col. Patricia Blassie will be released soon.
3. The Bible on the Missing Man Table at the NH VA Hospital is an ongoing issue. A Special thanks to “First Liberty Institute” in helping to make sure the Bible, which was owned by WWII POW Veteran, “Herman “Herk” Streitburger” remains on the Missing Man Table at the Manchester VA Hospital...Salute! We sadly report that “Herk” passed this Spring. He will always be remembered by those who stand the vigils.
A special memory this year for our friend and brother “Artie Atkinson” who stood with us for over 30 years... he will be greatly missed but will always remain with us in spirit always!
For those who have yet to participate in the Freedom Ride, the real focus of the ride is to bring into light an issue that affects hundreds of Americans and their fami- lies, those men and women missing in action or held pris- oner during times of war and/or conflict.
If you are unable to participate in the Freedom Ride, please make time to be at Hesky Park for the “Northeast POW/MIA Network Vigil” that begins at 7:00 pm, let your voice be heard.
If youare interested in riding in the Freedom Ride, please contact Bob Jones at Contact@northeastpowmi- anetwork.org. Visit our website: www.northeastpowmi- anetwork.org or see us on Facebook. H
Let this be the best year that all bikers, veterans and people come together for this “AMERICAN POW/MIA ISSUE”.
