Archival Protection:
Each National Geographic | Fine Art photograph is specially processed, creating a durable bond between the photograph and a sheet of Ultraviolet (UV) filtering acrylic. This archival UV filtering acrylic is specially designed to protect the photograph from harmful ultraviolet radiation at an atomic level. After curing, the airtight bond renders the photograph chemically inert and stable, resistant to fungicidal, bacterial agents and airborne pollutants.
• Ultraviolet protection filters out 99% of damaging Ultraviolet (UV) radiation
• Abrasion-resistant coating prevents scratches and dulling for a crystal clear viewing
• 40x more scratch-resistant than standard uncoated acrylic
• Half the weight of glass with twice the impact strength
• Outstanding optical quality with 92% light transmission
• Used by 75% of Museums Worldwide
Framing & Presentation:
Beyond the protection offered by the archival bonding, each National Geographic | Fine Art photograph is afforded the benefit of optimal viewing. Combined with the light penetration and refraction of clear acrylic, the bond produces higher image definition, brilliant color and a fine detailed texture that is made more evident to the viewer. This superior clarity cannot be achieved with ordinary glazing methods
The mounting and framing process is a time enduring procedure that takes several hours and must be completed by hand. Every National Geographic | Fine Art photograph is inspected for quality and accuracy of finish; thus ensuring we are providing the highest quality work.
National Geographic | Fine Art Galleries refuses to compromise quality and therefore uses only the finest high quality woods for our frame moldings, combining various finishing methods to achieve a desired look.
It takes skill, creativity and innovation to create a presentation so beautiful that it not only enhances photograph, but the environment in which it is displayed. With uniquely designed mounting and hanging systems, collectors will have the option of hanging the works in their homes either framed or free floating for a more contemporary look & feel.
