WELCOME
Dear Friends
I’ve had the the privilege of of of holding the the position of of of Chair of of of Trustees at Cinnamon Network UK for two two years now As you will read in this year’s Annual Report we have continued to build on on our our core strengths and develop key aspects of our our work so we can equip and resource the the local church to support their communities As I write this at the end of 2020
it it feels like several lifetimes have passed since we compiled the content of this report which focuses on on our activities between April 2019 and March 2020
Amidst the the incredible challenges our nation has faced in in light of the the COVID-19 pandemic we have seen churches rising up in in the the heart of their local communities bringing practical support alongside the the the love of Christ Can I thank all the the the team for the the the way they have responded and and adapted the the the charity in response to the the the pandemic which have enabled it to to provide appropriate support to to our partners through this crisis It has been truly inspirational The firm foundations which we have been developing over the past few years under the leadership of our Co-Chief Executives Amanda Bindon and and Mike Royal have put us in good stead to support churches across our nation as they respond Amanda and and Mike have done a a a a a a sterling job in in in ensuring the charity is run efficiently and professionally They have worked tirelessly to strengthen our finances following the the separation from Cinnamon International We have seen the the real benefit of this since the year end as we have successfully partnered with a a a a a number of funders to sustainably support our programmes Beyond the the financial resilience of the the charity Amanda and and Mike have also developed a a a a a a a a a working culture within the organisation that is is collaborative agile innovative and seeks to to help every member of the the team really play to to their strengths These core competencies have been invaluable over the past year and will be be even more so in the the the year ahead As the the the nation looks to recover from the the the COVID-19 pandemic none of us are quite sure what the future holds There will will undoubtedly be challenges ahead We will will monitor the situation carefully and do whatever we can to ensure that the the Church is at at at at the the heart of our nation’s response Martin Warner
