THE COMPANY
FERMIN ROJAS (Playwright) is a grateful to WHAT for the world premiere of LIBERTY TALKS. Fermin also thanks Joe
Papryzicki, at The Truro Playwright Collective, of which he is a member, where the play had its first reading with a
talented cast of local actors. It was further developed at Desert Playwrights Retreat. Other plays include, Cold War
(Truro Playwright Collective), Karen (Helltown Players) Rubbing Beads, Ashes (Provincetown 24 Hour Plays), The Man,
My Covid Year (Sailor Beware); books for musicals Miss Twinkleton’s School for Sensitive Boys, A Twinkle in Time, and
Destination Holiday (Colony Theater). Fermin’s filmwork includes award-winning documentaries “There Are Things To
Do”, “Alumbrones”, “Black Mambas”, “King Philip’s Belt”, and narrative films “The Ali’i King” and “High Tide”. Special
thanks to Gary Garrison for guidance, and especially to Janice Goldberg for believing in Liberty Talks. Fermin is currently
collaborating with Jeremy Cohen, Mfoniso Udofia, and Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls) on a musical adaptation of the award-
wining documentary Gospel of Eureka. The biggest thanks is to hubby Jay Kubesch with whom Fermin runs DKR Films.
Originally from Havana, Cuba, Fermin resides in Provincetown with Jay, their three dogs Truman, Porter, Shadow, and
Valentino the cat.
CHRISTOPHER OSTROM (Scenic & Projection Designer) Christopher is the Producing Artistic Director at Wellfleet
Harbor Actors Theater, where he has designed or directed over 80 productions since 1997, including Reefer Madness
(director, scenic designer), Betrayal (Scenic Designer), Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train (scenic designer, lighting designer),
and Marry Me A Little (director, scenic designer). His credits include productions for Odyssey Opera, Opera San Jose,
Tulsa Opera, Arizona Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Mobile Opera, Hawaii Opera Theater, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Kentucky
Opera, Opera Boston, Syracuse Opera, New England Conservatory, Opera Providence, Boston Conservatory, The Toronto
Symphony, Macau International Music Festival, Curtis Institute of Music, Boston Early Music Festival, New Repertory
Theatre, Stoneham Theatre, Boston Ballet, Snappy Dance Theatre, Boston’s Christmas Revels, Brandeis University, and
Bard College. Member: United Scenic Artists Local USA-829 of the IATSE. Faculty: Brandeis University.
CAROL SHERRY (Costume Designer) Carol is a freelance costume and wig designer who, after many years of dividing
her time between New York City and Provincetown, is now a year-rounder! Her thirty-five-plus-year career includes
designs for Broadway, off-Broadway, regional, and international theater. WHAT remains one of her favorite places to
work.
ERIC NIGHTENGALE (Lighting & Sound Designer) is a member of Concrete Temple Theatre, The Acme Corporation, New
Circle, and Anthropological Theatricals. He served as artistic director of 78th Street Theatre Lab from 1995 thru 2008.
Design credits include work with Theatre Breaking Through Barriers, PS21, Mason Holdings, Penguin Rep, The Brick,
59E59, Dixon Place, Minetta Lane, LaMama, The Acting Company, Symphony Space, Cherry Lane Theatre, St Clements,
Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Barrow Group, HERE, Classic Stage Company, Victory Gardens Theatre, Bailiwick
Repertory Theatre, Steppenwolf, Chicago Dramatists Workshop, and Second City. Radio drama credits include “The
Chronicles of Wallace Sprague”

“Dog Psychiatrist”, available on all podcast platforms, as well as work broadcast
nationally over NPR affiliate stations and in the UK over BBC channel 4. His work at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe has
resulted in five Fringe First awards, four adaptations for BBC radio, two Best Ensemble awards, an off-broadway
production and a London transfer.
