A CLUB BRAMAN FAVORITE ART AFTER DARK
Tour the Museum, Listen to Music and Sip Wine After Hours
Join Club Braman at the Norton Museum of Art every now and then for Art After Dark. From 5‐9 p.m. club members can tour the galleries, enjoy lively gallery talks, learn about art through special lectures, participate in art workshops with talented teaching artists, and enjoy live music – usually jazz. The schedule varies, so keep tuned to your email and Club Newsletter for invitations.
Club Braman Art After Dark programs have highlighted the Museum’s collec- tions and exhibitions while celebrating community, culture, diversity, and the performing arts including Throw-Back Thursday: 90’s Art Scene, Chinese Moon Festival and French Connections: Pho- tography.
As of magazine publication, some upcoming Club Braman Art after Dark events will include “Songs of the Great
War”, about the music that popular American song writers were creating
in response to World War I. “Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney: Sculpture” and “William Henry Fox Talbot and the Birth of Photography”
You can also look forward to the Mu- seum’s annual Bastille Day celebration taking place this year on Saturday, July 12th. Bastille Day celebrates the art and culture of France through iconic French artists like Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, and Henri Matisse, whose works are in the Norton’s Collection.
The day will include French music, lms, food, drink, art making workshops for all ages, and more!
All-in-all, The Norton Museum is a favor- ite of Club Braman members. Come join us and nd out the many reasons why.
GOING BEYOND
THE GOAL
Over 3,000 Miles Across America to Raise Funds and Awareness
In 2017, Braman Motorcars Director of Service, Chris Hu man, participated in the Race Across America, a 3,069 mile journey from California to Maryland. It was a seven day trek through America’s deserts and mountains deemed “the world’s toughest bicycle race”. Now Hu man, along with his team “The Opportunists” are racing again in 2018.
Before last year’s race, Hu man did not really know about Oppor- tunity Inc. Early Childhood Education and Family Center located in West Palm Beach and not far from the dealership. But when he learned of their mission- (Empowering the children of working families to achieve academic and life success through educational programs that embrace the whole child and through family pro- gramming) Chris wanted to do more.
Due to successful outreach, Opportunity Inc. is constructing a new building to provide space for 285 children. According to the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University “Early experiences a ect the quality of the architecture of the brain by establishing either a sturdy or a fragile foundation for all of the learning, health and behavior that follow”.
