Internationally-renowned and adored, French/American artist Duaiv turns exotic cars into moving masterpieces.
By Robin Hodes
You can’t miss Duaiv when he enters a room, nor can you ignore a luxury sports car embellished with one
of his signature vibrant-
ly-colored abstract vehicle wraps speeding down the highway.
To say that Duaiv is fearless of color is a gross under- statement. He dominates it, grasping it ercely in his st and making it come alive in a variety of ways, from an electrifying oil on canvas to a rainbow of watercolors on paper to, yes, the body of
a Porsche or other coveted sports car.
Duaiv is as charming as he
is eccentric, with a smile
that lights up the room
every bit as much as the
ever-changing hair color he
sports along with his lovely
wife Magella (to see their two heads dyed in matching magenta is not unusual).
Duaiv’s thousands of paintings often de- pict subjects favored by the Impression- ists: still lifes and cafés, landscapes and sailboats. He captures the most beloved cities in the world—Paris, New York, Ven- ice, Miami—and presents them in more creative and energetic ways than they’ve
ever been seen before. Similarly, his por- traits of everyone from Lincoln to Lennon, the Dalai Lama to the Pope, are stimulat- ing visual personi cations that show facial

Since living here, Duaiv has made a name for himself, not only as the o cial poster artist of the 2015 Coconut
Grove Arts Festival, but with live appearances at various prestigious auto and yacht shows across the state. Duaiv loves America, and he also loves fast cars. Of the 50 or so exotic sports cars he’s obtained in his lifetime, more than a handful were purchased at Braman. “I love all the cars they sell,” says Duaiv. “They make the process so easy.”
And Duaiv relishes making a car his canvas. His abstract creations, whether seen on a showroom oor or out on the road, are unmistakable. “Each car is its own process and its own work of art,” says Duaiv. “You don’t have to go to a gallery to see
it. Thousands of people get to enjoy it, because the art is on the street.”
Club Braman Members are in for a rare treat on December 6th, when Duaiv
will come to Braman Porsche West Palm Beach and live paint a wrap that will then embrace a Porsche GT 3RS. The event will be a feast for the eyes that o ers a whole new perspective on “performance driving.”
features and expressions with a special re that can only be kindled by Duaiv’s keen, singular eye and deft strokes.
The French-born artist has been a proud U.S. citizen since 2011, but not before receiving several of the most prestigious art awards known to man (way too many to list but su ce it to say that at least one was conferred by his Royal Highness,
