138In 1976 I was 12 years old, so the only stand out memory of the year was our summer. The UK had the longest and hottest heat wave any of us can remember. I spent most of the summer skateboarding, in fared jeans, converse chuck tailor’s and T-shirt.I was blissfully unaware that a young Steve Jobs formed the Apple Computer Company, it was the following year that I became aware of the Ramones frst album, and that music we listened to on Cassette Tape was to herald the dawn of new age in music, youth culture and become the theme tune for social unrest. Punk Rock was born.I can vividly remember the Formula 1 season and sitting on the edge of my seat as Hunt and Lauda battled it out. Niki Lauda had his near death crash and James Hunt won the championship by a single point.
