OCTOBERFormula 1 heads to Texas as our American friends have fnally really embraced the series at the fabulous Circuit of the Americas the frst purpose-built F1 facility in the US designed for any and all classes of racing and was offcially opened on October 21, 2012 by COTA ambassador and 1978 F1 world champion, Mario Andretti. Austin is a weird and wonderful city – it’s offcial and it really does F1 properly especially down town in the cool bars and restaurants – sample the food, be it the fnger-licking barbecue on offer at the Salt Lick BBQ, the curried crabcakes at the Clay Pit, the burgers at Casino el Camino or the excellent street food and authentic Tacos on offer around town. A great place and always an exciting race.34
