A NEWDAWNWORDS/ Craig Blake-JonesPICTURES/ Alex PWe couldn’t even think about doing a “Cool Britannia” issue without featuring Rolls Royce Motorcars, although many would argue that they are not cool, a bit to “establishment” and formal. I would strongly refute this; A Rolls Royce is very cool, always has been and always will be. Many, many years ago as a twenty something young lad about town, I owned a clothes shop in Worcester, a friend of mine about 10 years my senior had a Gold Silver Shadow, with a Brown leather roof and a brand new Bentley Turbo R in bright red. One afternoon he popped in the shop and said he was going to London later and could I look after the car. So after closing up the shop I left my car with a friend and went to collect the Shadow, there sitting at Worcester Shrub Hill station was the Gold Roller with the keys left in the exhaust pipe. Needless to say we hit the Birmingham clubs that night in style and it wasn’t long before we had a car full of gorgeous girls… 8
