British street culture has always resonated globally. Since the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the late 50’s Brit style has gone hand in hand with music. So, it wasn’t a great leap when the frontman of possibly one of the most iconic British rock bands of the last 20 years, Oasis’ Liam Gallagher decided to start his own clothing range. Liam’s major infuences were from the ‘60s Mod movement and the Paul Wellers, The Jam.He just wanted to make clothes he could wear, money was not an issue, so the label was driven emotionally rather than fnancially. The name “Pretty Green” was from the song on The Jam’s frst album, itself a major infuence on the then young Gallagher and the brand was born. The clothes he wanted to wear he couldn’t get so he had them made, a classic range in classic colours a collection he could be proud of.Liam likened wearing “top” cloths to singing in tune… both an absolute necessity. It seemed Liam was right as Pretty Green now has 15 shops and has gone from strength to strength with a fag ship store on London’s Carnaby Street. So, an idea to get his own cloths made has turned it a very successful venture for the rock star, who threw himself behind his brand and worked it giving his clothing all the style and attitude of their founder. The Pretty Green range is very wearable and the quality is top notch, very British styling, but for a more casual and modern English gentleman than we would equate to tradition English clothing brands. A bit more attitude, cloths you know you look good it without having to check out your refection in the windows as you walk down the road.88
