Everyone has heard about the 24 hours of Le Mans, but the endurance racing series actually has ve different series based around it, all created by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, or the ACO. One such series is the Asian Le Mans series now in its fth season. This four event season began at the Zhuhai
International Circuit in China with the second race at the Fuji International Speedway Japan.
We caught up with the season under the shadow of mount Fuji as the ambient temperature at the base of the mountain is zero degrees so tyre warm up is a major factor as all the teams were expecting somewhere around twenty degrees. Grip was at a premium as even the most seasoned pro drivers in this gentlemen’s series struggled to get the Michelin rubber up to temperature.
