  challenges in the beginning (some of which are still very present today)  rstly you need racers, these traditionally are gentlemen racers, those who have the  nancial means coupled with the talent to race, then there is the challenge of keeping the teams in the series - in many ways the series is a race of ego’s which can create instability. Harnessing the enthusiasm, talent and  nancial clout of this band of “gentlemen” was Stephane’s biggest talent.
Now 25 years later the Blancpain GT series goes from strength to strength, but it all started at grass roots level with Curbstone events, based out of the Spa Francorchamps circuit offering track days to those who wanted to test their pride and joy supercars and their own talent (with the potential to damage both their cars and their pride) in track events. Those who get the bug to race, can move to GT4 stepping into a stripped out version of their road going GT cars - and so the series was born.
