Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire plays host to one of my favourite shows, Race Retro. This year saw record attendance as the crowd
increased by 10% on last year’s show with 23,100 through the doors over the three days.
Spread over four sprawling halls there were some great cars to see, interesting side stands and so many people to talk to. The auto jumble always makes me wish I had more room in the garage and as press we were privileged to be able to sneak around into the vast warehouse that was used for ‘park ferme’ for the rally stage.
Not only is Race Retro a show, but it is a platform for the historic race club and series organisers to get together. Motor sport industry race series, rally organisers, and traders, with more than 85 specialists were all in attendance including Classic and Sports Car Club, Equipe Classic Racing, MG Car Club, HERO Events, Classic World Racing, Historic Sports Car Club, Millers Oils, and the Vintage Sports-Car Club. This makes the show a great place for those who fancy getting into the sport, as classic racing offers a wide range of racing for most budgets.
