The OneLife training programme operates globally as a business initiative centred around inspirational and informative workshops about building business and wealth through Crypto Currency and the rock star of the show is the enigmatic Sebastian Greenwood a self-made multi billionaire who preaches what he practices (and yes I have got that the right way round) Sebastian’s love of motorsport and general petrol headonism is why his networks name is on the car, he wants his brand to go to Le Mans and be a part of the legend. Friday evening certainly proved he knows how to throw a little party and when it came to informing his guests of the race day timetable, he was quick to get up from his table, take the microphone from the DJ and turn on his natural presenting charm.
Saturday is race day and the #25 OneLife car had quali ed 6th on the Grid, which the guys at team APR seemed quite happy with and John Graham was there with his Canadian smile to entertain his guests and explain the technicalities of endurance racing and the different classes of race that run within one race. To watch him chat and spend the time with guests in the very full hospitality suite you could be forgiven for forgetting he a race to drive.
Twelve cars are on the grid, and the buzzer sounds to clear the VIP’s and media, so that’s our queue to nip back though the garage jump on our scooter and get trackside for the race start. The circuit is a fairly new development, mostly used for bike racing, but has an interesting set of bends for this class of racing, putting the GT cars right in the action for the opening 20 minutes and with a lap times between 1’25” oand1’40” giving an opportunity to the GT’s to be all over the back of the LMP2&3 eld until the heavier prototypes get up to temperature and settle into their race. The network of service roads both outside and on the in- eld are a photographers dream, especially as there are no “red zones” or no go areas on this modern circuit.
As the cars pass us behind the safety car, it is always a rolling start in this series, the energy feels great, I can see the far end of the start/ nish straight even though I am past turn one waiting for the cars to come directly at me. I see the safety car peel into the pit lane, then the ve red lights turn green and we are racing at the 6 hours Buriram, thethird round of the Asian Le Mans series.
