So as the season gets underway our massive road trip starts. Belgium is the rst port of call for the opening GT Sprint round at Zolder on the 6-8 April, two weeks later the circus rolls in to Monza Park for the opening Endurance round from the 20-22nd April before heading back to the UK in May for the Sprint Series race at Brands Hatch on the 5-6th May and the Silverstone Endurance round on the 18-20th May, always a big highlight of the season.
June sees the gang back at Paul Ricard on the 1-2nd for an Endurance round, before the trucks roll across to the East coast of Italy for the Sprint Series round at Misano. Misano used to be the opening round so
the new date will ensure a hot sunny event. Nearby Rimini will be alive by then so we’ll be at one of our favourite hotels the Grand Hotel for the weekend.
Then as we approach the height of summer we have what for me is one of the highlights of the racing season. The Total 24 Hours of Spa from 26-29th July - a true endurance test of driver and machine. The access for fans at the circuit makes it one of the most atmospheric events as well with lots of action on and off track for the full duration of the carnival like weekend.
Then it is to Budapest for the Sprint series for the last day of August (31st) into the rst weekend of September 1-2nd, before the build up the nals fortnight where the Nurburgring plays host to the Sprint Series nal on September 14-16th. Then we nish in sunny Barcelona for the Endurance cup nal on September 28-30th.
We’re looking forward to a fantastic season ahead so even if you only make it to your local race it’s a great experience and perfect day out seeing the worlds best car manufacturers battle it out on one of the most exciting and ercely fought grids in motorsport.
