My rst experience of clay shooting was about 10 years ago when our lawyer invited us. Back in the days when you could
take clients out without everyone concerned having declare their interests to their boards or even the tax man... simpler times. He had arranged for a party of about 10 of us to meet at The Oxford Gun Company shooting ground at 10am. It was about an hour from home and my brother was picking me up in his DB9, we blasted down the M40 as he was running a little late. As we made our way down the long bumpy drive of the gun club I pointed out our party on the left in the car park. “Just park over there next to the Merc” I said and he swung the Aston left without noticing the substantial log dividing the parking area, we now had a DB9 seesawing on a tree trunk. Way to make an entrance...
I found a scaffold plank in the barn and we reversed the stricken supercar of it perch, much to the amusement of not only our gang, but pretty much everyone. Lets say it took my brother a while to live that one down... not to mention the cracked air intakes that had be replaced. Ouch.
Our shoot was hosted that day by David Florent, son of Doug and Shirley who have owned and lived at the Jericho Farm shooting ground that is The Oxford Gun Company since 1989. David who shot for England in the Olympics invited me to come back and spend a day having a one to one lessons. I was hooked.
