Always looking for interesting venues to take friends, clients and club members to, we at Paddock Life have added a new adrenaline packed and spine tingling experience to our very exclusive list of places to go.
Travelling to the Maldives we were recommended to stay at Conrad Rangali Island and experience the undersea restaurant. Sitting like a ‘pearl’ beneath the waves, (ITHAA meaning pearl in the Maldivian language). When we walked into the restaurant and were guided to our table we were suddenly confronted with something out of a James Bond set.
You are surrounded by curved acrylic walls giving you a spectacular 180-degree panoramic view of
the beautiful, crystal clear azure waters of which the Maldives are famous for. The first view of a shark gliding silently overhead as you study your menu sets the trend for a truly unique dining experience.
This stunning dining venue became the world’s first aquarium-style undersea restaurant - indulging diners with spectacular views of the surrounding lagoon, reefs and beautifully vibrant tropical fish, and you will not forget the first time you get that close to a reef shark as it swims by. It is no surprise to us that ITHAA is consistently recognised as one of the world’s most expensive and exclusive places to eat and is now thought of as the most beautiful restaurant in the world, fast becoming a 21st Century travel icon.
Twelve years ago the restaurant was spectacularly “sunk’ five metres into the waters of the Indian ocean and has since become the mecca for lovers of food, culture and architecture the world over. To this day ITHAA continues to intrigue and impress with its natural beauty and sublime cuisine served in a sub aqua ambience to die for.
As we finish our meal we could just imagine James Bond taking Amasova to dinner here before they go to destroy Karl Stromberg and his underwater Atlantis lair.
We highly recommend when you are next planning a trip or find yourself in the Maldives come and live your own “The Spy Who Loved Me” experience!
