the fresh lemonade on tap on the bar, was perfect in the sun on the terrace as was the rest of the bar selection and the never-ending bar nibbles, both savoury and sweet seemed to be going down a treat. As the sun went down and the race was well underway Chris and I took our table for dinner, the staff were brilliant, the atmosphere was like a really good restaurant, the wine was very well matched to the food and very very good. The buffet table was quite spectacular in its display of the various courses from left to right, everything was always maintained so there was no “bun fight” at the buffet as is often seen at these events. The food was nothing short of spectacular, from starter to desert. Our only regret was that we had to drive back to the UK that evening for another event or we would have taken a little more advantage of the wine list and been able to have lunch on the terrace the following day.
We had the pleasure of using the Business Club again at the Nurburgring, this time without the restaurant as the full unit mostly goes to the endurance rounds of the series, but even without the sun and therefore full use of the terraces it still worked very well as a hub for meeting people throughout the weekend. So, the concept that Antony had shown us nearly six months previously had become a reality and was working exactly as planned. Stephane’s team and their partners Blancpain has not only raised the bar on hospitality, but completely taken it away. The Blancpain SRO unit makes anything Formula 1 can offer look like a works canteen by comparison. It certainly reflects Blancpain’s brand ethos in every way and is exactly the environment we had in mind for our readers when we launched Paddock Life.
This truly is the Art of Living...
