Ewan Gunn has been the HAIG CLUB global whisky master since the brands launch in 2014 and has been integral to the introduction of HAIG CLUB to the world - from hosting VIPs going to the distillery in Scotland and the launch with David Beckham also held at the Scottish distillery and then a subsequent tour of Asia. His vast passion for Scotch whisky helps him to inspire the next generation of scotch whisky ambassadors.The Ethos behind HAIG CLUB is to reinvent how people see and perceive Scotch whisky and to banish the old image. The aim is to make it more stylish and sophisticated and to turn it into the cool drink of choice to a new and younger generation of drinkers with whom style is everything. This is why they came up with the very striking blue bottle changing the old fashioned mindset of a whisky bottle, interestingly the rational behind the blue bottle has more substance than just being cool, if you were to go to a tasting at the distillery you will be served the liquid in a blue glass as not to infuence your eyes in judging the whisky by its colour and judge by taste instead.Using single grain Scotch whisky having been made since 1824 and with at least four hundred years of heritage, single grain is not that well known as most single grain is usually blended and is highly prized and not usually sold on its own.Single grain has its own unique style, subtle and versatile.The idea is to convince drinkers it can be a cool drink in a cocktail like an Old Fashioned or a Ginger Smoke Stack, simple to make but tastes fantastic, and with HAIG CLUB and now HAIG CLUBMAN they are recruiting the new generation of whisky lover across the world, dispelling the myth of just one ice cube or a whiff of water as the old guard would consider anything more would spoil the taste, but now with HAIG CLUB suggesting thinking out side the box and drinking with a cola works well as a tall refreshing drink.The HAIG CLUB is to appeal to a younger global audience and to this end David Beckham has been bought on board as their global ambassador for the brand which works in many ways as Mr Beckham is in himself a world famous global brand and considered as cool thus enhancing the global reach of the drink and along with a partnership with British entrepreneur Simon Fuller also acting as an ambassador for the brand.With the introduction of HAIG CLUBMAN as a new edition to the stable which has its own unique style as it is aged in Bourbon barrels giving it a more toffee caramel and vanilla taste they have further enhanced the whisky and offering more choice to drinkers.So when you are next out give it a go, raise your glass and as the Scots say “ on your health “ or better known as “ Slainte “.
