Round 3 of the Blancpain GT Series and we are back in the UK as Brands Hatch plays host to a sunny but windy weekend of racing. Brands hatch is a great circuit and its natural amphitheatre provides some of the best spectating anywhere. For us who are usually paddock bound it is exceptionally good as from the narrow paddock area behind the pit garages we can see the rise of Paddock Hill up into Druids, then get the full view as they race down the hill through Graham Hill and Surtees bends. The downside is the way the paddock has to split, with today’s main race, the GT Series Sprint Cup GT3 with their cars in the garages and the rest through the tunnel over the other side of Graham Hill. I checked on my iPhone and on Saturday alone I walked nearly 8kms. Today’s race line up sees the second round of the Norther Europe GT4’s and Lotus Cup Europe. There is always a great atmosphere here at Brands, the access into the paddock and Supercar club display all help to provide a great weekends entertainment for race fans.
